Default Upgrades

I got the urge to trade in my 04 Commemorative coupe for an 07-08 C6. At least until I looked at a few and the local dealers told me it would be $12k for an 07 or $15k plus my car for an 08.

My car only has 25k miles on it but I wanted navi with a touch screen, LT3 for the stuff my car has, homelink, tighten up the steering with Z51 and 40-50 lbs of low to midrange torque.

I'm thinking I can accomplish what I want for a lot less than $12k.

Dennis at Double D Mods is hooking me up with a new model Kenwood. He's giving a great deal right now. My local dealer couldn't believe (or match) the price. Garmin nav, HD radio, bluetooth, all the goodies. My local guy is going to put in an auto dim homelink mirror and wire in my radar detector. Hopefully the new mirror will take a blend mount.

I think I'm going to go with C6 sways from GM Parts House, that should do the steering and if not I'll swap out the shocks for C6 Zo6 shocks.

To pick up the increased torque I know I need a tune and there's a couple of well recommended local guys, but what will get me the 40-50 pounds of low-mid torque?

I'm thinking long tubes and ????. I really don't want to get involved in cams or ported heads at this point. Can I get what I want without taking the heads off?

The tune will run $300, what should I be looking at for the rest of the mechanical work?

Put a S/C on that baby and it will be a beast. Not a bad decision to keep your '04 for that kind of difference in price.

I don't need that kind of power. I'd just like to get another 40 lbs of torque. I'm thinking long tubes and a tune will get me that.

Am I wrong?

12 to 15k buys a lot of mods. dennis is great to deal with and you'll love the conversion. that still leaves around 11k-14k to play with, lol

A little more low end torque in second gear will be fine. The mobile tax collectors are on every corner around here.

For bolt ons I suggest our Vararam and LG Super Pro header combo. After that let Tampa Tuning work his magic. You'll hit your HP goal.

I saw you on Dimmit's site and was going to give you a call.

Can you recommend someone you work with who can do a header install for me?

I work with a couple shops in the area for installs. Give me a call so I can get a better feel for what your looking to have done to the car and it will be easier for me to guide you.
