Its been nearly a thousand miles since I had the ring job done to stop the 1qt per 600 mile oil consumption. I am happy to say that so far so good. My dipstick indicates little to no oil consumption. :D
Now I just need to get the big scratch fix that came with the ring job.
Where did you buy those SCCA numbers from?? I've been looking on-line for static cling number kits for the Corvette (I'm assuming magnetic numbers won't work), but I haven't found anyone who sells them.
Great news. I've sort of been following your saga for a while now, and it's good to hear that things are working out for you. There's no reason why it shouldn't: a decent mechanic should be able to put together an LS6 such that it's in better shape than when it came off the initial assembly line. Still, it's good to hear it's working out for you. And, by the way, your car looks just right with the competition numbers on the sides.
Yeah, congrats! Have 1300 miles on my rering. Had to add one quart after I dragraced on saturday then autox'ed on sunday of the same weekend. However, that was over 600 miles ago and the dipstick reads full since then. Plus, no oily film or soot on the rear fascia! :D
