Default Help please!

I was directed by some very helpful members of this forum to post in all gen discussions my C3 post:

Hi, I live near Reno, NV and am looking at buying a 78 near Boise, ID. This car is beautiful in the pics as far as I can tell and the guy has kind of been holding it for me until I can get up there this President's weekend to take a look. I am very new to corvettes and know what I like cosmetically. Numbers matching and originality do not matter to me at all. I am in it for driveability and fun. My boyfriend loves to tinker with things so I know that I'll be able to fix minor issues and maybe someday down the line supe it up just bit. I've been reading some threads and see that almost everyone suggests a third party to inspect the car. I contacted the Boise corvette club and the president directed me to a man that supposedly knew about C3's but he never ever returned our calls or texts or emails. So I was wondering if there was someone on this forum that would be willing or able to meet me in Boise Presidents day weekend to inspect the car with me or knows of someone who can. I would be willing to pay, not sure how much as I also contacted the National Auto Inspection Services and they start at $225 but don't know how much they really know about C3's. Sorry for the long post but I am new. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

You should post this question in C3 General not C5 General.

It is posted in C3 general. It was suggested to post it in multiple sections because some people may have more than one gen sitting in their garage but may not always see it in just one section.

just keep in mind c3's ride rough, are not fast and are 34 years ("78) old so that require a lot of attention. mine has 27k original miles on it but still has issues to deal with occasionally. just food for thought. i bought mine cause i liked the look of it and i couldn't afford a c3 bumper car. my c5 z fills my need for speed. good luck on finding someone to inspect your dream and welcome to the world of corvettes.....

Other than the pace car, the 78's are VERY POOR examples of Vettes. Get a 73' or earlier. The end of the run 82' was OK, not great but OK too.
