It was the weirdest thing...I started my car tonight and it seemed to rev up really high, and then the revs kept bouncing from about 500 to 1500. Before I shut it down, the messages "Reduced Engine Power", and "Service Traction" came up.
When I restarted the car, I didn't get any messages, and it idled fine, but the check engine light was on. So when I got home, I pulled the codes, and heres what came up:
10-PCM - p1516 H Command vs Actual Throttle Position Performance (TAC Module)
28-TCS - c1255 H EBTCM Internal Malfunction
c1278 H TCS Temporarily Inhibited By PCM
So what I'm thinking is that my EBCM(?) unit finally went out... Could someone please elaborate on what exactly these codes mean, before I take it in to Chevy, so I kind of know what I'm in for? That would be awesome.
If it's of any importance, the corvette is a '98 with about 63,000 miles. Oh, and it doesn't have active handling.

I would clear the codes and make sure your battery is fully charged. A low battery causes havok. Mine did this a couple of times while I was installing a new stereo system and thought I had big problems. It was a not fully charged battery.
Course if it is still there then I would begin the next phase of troubleshooting.

Definitely do this before anything else - I also have a 1998 and if you need help just let me know - I have done this with mine too!
