Default 18s wheels all around

Just purchased a o3 and didn't realize it has 18" wheels all around. Why would a person change to the 18s?

Probably because the previous owner was stupid and didn't know any better. Also possible is that he/she thought maybe someone else messed up and put on the wrong ones then it started having AH/TC system issues, so they dumped the car.

I guess the guy 2 up thinks 18s will hurt the performance.

I am running 18 all around will no AH/TC issues. Typical combinations for these cars are 18/18, 19/19, and 19/20.

I dumped the stock sizes and went 18/19's, definitely like the look much better and filled in the wheel wells much nicer!

you can easily go 18/18 or 19/19 and have no issues as long as you get correct tires for the car

as mentioned you still have to watch the diameter of the tires

19/19 for me and not an issue at all with AH/TC

You must be one of the stupid ones!

I am running 18/19 combo but due to tire size options kinda wish I had done 18/18 combo. Wasn't really an issue before the SC system but is now. Could get a wider rear tire with a but more sidewall in a better tire for traction then I have found in 19's.

I may just be getting more stupid in my near future.

I run 18 inch wheels on all 4 corners and never had an issue, I like the look of 18 all around.

I also run 18s all around. It's not the diameter of the wheel that matters so much. It's the tire selection.

Another one who posts w/o any knowledge. I have ran 18s all around for over 6 years with no problems at all. It has to do with tire diameter, not wheel diameter.

Check the diameters of the tires you want-the front should be 1/2" less than the rear to keep the active handling happy.

Ok guys, please allow me to retract my less than professional comment. Some people have managed to do this without issues. My comment was related to the AH/TC problems that can and do result with the tire diameters not proper in respect to the PCM/TC system programming. I apologize if I offended anyone.

Maybe the OP got lucky and bought a C5 with a big brake kit on the front which would require the use of an 18 wheel. That would be my first question
