yesterday was my second attempt to clean the inside of the rear hatch glass. this was even worse than the last time. it has a film. seems oily. water no good. water with vinegar no good.windex no good. purple power no good. changed paper towels. changes towels. it dries with a streaking film. almost white. shade or sun. no difference.
I don't know what's on your windows but a very old method for cleaning was using newspaper. It really worked well. I ran into a case once at a car wash where this dude used an treatment crap stuff all over my dash that I didn't ask for. This stuff out-gassed and attached itself to the window real bad...winter time-frame. Within 30 minutes, I couldn't see out of the windshield. I managed to get it back to the place where they cleaned and cleaned. Didn't help a whole lot and it literally took weeks to remove it as this stuff slowly seeped out of the dash.
will try newspaper this afternoon. have not put anything new inside the car. this has been going on for a few weeks. it is usually no problem. this time it is. oh! my wife tried also.
Periodically had the same problem with each of my vehicles. By adjusting my cleaning process, I have eliminated the terrible streaking glass issues. Suggest using an ammonia-free cleaner. I use Invisible Glass and a micro-fiber towel. Sam's Club sells a 24 towel pack for about $18.00; there in the cleaning supply section. I clean the outside of the window horizontally and the inside vertically. This helps identify if the streak is inside or outside.
