it's all in the owner's manual....no need to do anything different...I am nearing 60k miles and the car runs like a jack rabbit.

Thanks!! I figured maybe over time there had become some better practices.

Air Filter

Fuel Filter

Transmission Fluid

Belts

Coolant

Gear Oil

Battery serviced/charged

This is what I do on my C5 DD, but I am only at 50k miles after 11+ years - all in town driving...

Air Filter
I have an oiled Hurricane filter - clean and re-oil once per year (twice a year would be smarter)

Fuel Filter
Changed mine at 40,000 miles

Transmission Fluid
Changed fluid and filter at 40,000 miles

Belts
Changed at 30,000 miles

Coolant
Flush and change every 3 years

Gear Oil
Changed at 30,000 miles

Engine Oil/Filter
Every 6 months (overkill)

Battery serviced/charged
Drive everyday, so no need to charge, but I replace Red Tops every 3 years just to be on the safe side - however with Red Tops it is like rolling the dice.

Its a valid question because if you go by the manual you replace the plugs at 100K miles and everyone here says that they are too worn long before that.

I've only got 15K miles on my '03, but here is what I've done so far. Just did the maintenance so I would know that things were great right after I bought the car. In addition to the ones you have listed, I changed the brake fluid at 10K miles.

Fuel Filter - changed it @ 10K miles.

Transmission Fluid - changed it at 10K miles

Belts - still on the original ones.

Coolant - changed it at 10K miles.

Gear Oil - previous owner had the leaking differential seal - oil was changed under warranty with about 4K miles on the car.

Battery serviced/charged - Replaced the Red Top that was in the car when I bought it in October 2010 - Red Top bit the dust. Now have a Sears DieHard Platinum in the car.
