Default Removing C5 armrests ?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in a search. How do you remove the door armrests on a C5 ? Thank You ! I bought a custom set from CorvetteAmerica and I have to say, they are one heck of a nice item, Leather with embroidered with the C5 logo and the 'Corvette' below it. Really sharp ! I just need to know how to safely remove the stock ones.

Oh yeah, give us a pic when you get them installed. I'm thinking of getting the same ones.

I wasn't aware that there are removable armrests from the factory. I know mine doesn't have any. The aftermarket ones just stick to the door panel.

They're a part of the door panel.

Here is a cut and paste from the 03 Brochure in regards to the Anniversary Edition's interior:
■ Unique Shale interior with
embroidered head restraints,
color-coordinated leather doorpull
grips and armrest pads

See the Picture in brochure on page 4 of the Factory Leather Armrest Pad

http://www.50thregistry.com/brochure.pdf

As to an answer on how to remove the factory installed leather armrest pads, sorry, not exactly sure how the factory adhered the leather pads.

Good luck on the removal, and installation of your new custom Corvette America embroidered ones.

Learn something new every day! Those arm rests seem to be unique to the Anniversary Edition? Can't say I've seen them on any other C5.

Yes, unfortunately. I was hoping for an easy fix, too, but considering that these adhere to the same vinyl (?) that separates from the door panel, these too, will eventually. Next stop: leather door panels.

Default New arm rests !

I know I have to lift them and I was wondering if I do it slowly, will the double faced tape holding them on will lift, but is it better to try this in warm or cold weather ? Like June when the car sits out in the sun and the interior gets good and hot ? like summer and when the heat is up in the sunny days of June ?

Here is a picture of the new armrests and what I did with the new door handle surrounds.

I was wondering about these and what you did. I was thinking someone already installed some or there was a special package from the factory they came with after seeing your pictures.

My first thoughts are they are double sided taped on. I don't know but I would do this myself. I would remove the panel and investigate it to see how they are fixed on. But I can't see GM going to too much trouble to mount what amounts to an after market dress up item.

Maybe you could also ask our resident GM C5 engineer, he may know.

They are mounted with double side tape. Easy to install.
