I just got a great deal on a 2001 yellow, convertible c5. The exhaust plate has the corvette emblem and it says 0239 of 1000. I have looked all over the internet and cant figure out if this is some kind of special edition or not. Also can sombody tell me if the vents/accents not sure what they are called are factory?

Thats what I thought on the side moldings. I looked at several pics and didnt see another one like it. Thats an old pic so the tail light louvers are already gone. I guess thats just the style a 60yo man likes haha. Also got rid of the fish bowl look yesterday.

The side moldings are called Body Side Moldings (BSM's). There was only one per side, not three. I'd lose them along with the tail light louvers....[/QUOTE]
I'm not fussy on the 3 BSM treatment. If it helps you to decide about removing them, I can also tell you that none of those moldings are stock length. The OEM's continue to the back of the door.

The car was not a special edition model - none made in 2001. No clue as to why your uncle would have that particular exhaust plate on the car. And yes, only one BSM came as an option on the C5. Nice car and sorry about the passing of your uncle.
