Default Installed Heated Seats

Hi,

I got heated seats and wanted to share my install with others who are considering this mod. There is a lot of threads about this topic. So here you go....If you are removing the seats for the first time then use the Vette Essentials instructions. I also used 3M connectors as you can see from the pics below to tap for power. You can buy them from Grainger. I couldnt find them in Homedepot, Autozone, etc at least the ones in my area.

I got the heated seats as a X-mas gift from Mid America, they have Lo, Mid and Hi. So first thing I took the seats out and the console, as shown below
.

I decided to install the buttons by the traction control button. So I marked the buttons from the inside and then used a gradual drill bit. Trial and error till i got a good fit. Below are few pics

I used a thin blade saw to make a groove so the wires can come out from the sides. I basically cut a 1/4inch downwards and a width of the wires diameter side by side. Below is a pic of how the wires come out.

I run the ground wires to the screw underneath the glove box as shown below (Closeup look)

I got the power by tapping into the yellow wire inside the access panel underneath the glove box on the passenger side, as shown below

Below is a pic with one seat in place to make sure everything is working (And it was)

Below pic everything is back with the exception of the passenger seat.

This weekend I want to redo the placement of the bottom heated pads, so I get the heat in the right place, should take 30min per seat. I take my time

Hope the pics help newbies or someone planning to do this mod. Take your time, I used alot of zipties so have the wiring very well tucked.

RB

Thanks, still sitting on the fence with my heated seat install. Have to laugh 'cause you are doing what i consider is the most difficult part of the job, the wiring. For me the seat pads are the easiest. Let us all in on how the project goes. Greetings, Rob

Looks like a nice, clean install. Thanks for documenting your process and posting it up.

You should have replaced your driver's side seat cushion while you were in there.

The ones I have linked(have 2 other options)
have the same switches as Ramez

We are actually putting a set in a custom set of leather race seats now

The switches will be at the top of his custom DD radio bezel along with 2 gauges in between them

oh
and the bezel will also be finished in leather with yellow stitching
