Ok, I was washing the car today and I noticed this discoloration or something. I took to with my buffer and cleaners and it seems to be in the paint. This is the area behind the driver head rest. I am not sure what it is. I am not all that concerned yet, since it doesn't stand out---yet. Anyone ever seen this before.
Did you ever notice this before. That would not just appear under the clear for no reason. It looks like the headrest rubbed up against it. If you look at the picture it looks like when you sand orange peel. Try some 2500 wet and dry paper then buff.
GM had a problem with the bonding agent used in production around the 98-00's, I say this because my Firebird had a panel start to appear discolored and eventually seperate the clear coat from the paint base coat following the same path as the adhesive was applied on the rook panel.
It was over 6 years from the date of production but the GM dealership made a call to the regional reps and they warranteed the work and paint job. They explained the reason that the adhesive had been causing them some issues so they changed the formula.
I don't know where exactly your paint trouble is located or even if it's old adhesive related. Just an FYI.
