I just installed my longtube headers,x-pipe and high flow cats a couple weeks ago. The car runs great except for the check engine light is now on because I blocked off my a.i.r. stuff. As i said, the car runs fine but i do want to get a tune. The question is how much does the weather effect the tune? I'm wondering if I should wait for spring and warmer weather. The dyno tune is around $600.00! I had my last c-5 dyno tuned after my gear swap and it really did make some power but I'd hate to get it tuned now and have to take it back in the summer.
Also, what are your thoughts on a mail order tune such as chuck cow? They are sure less money! I may go that route if they are almost as good. Can they "tune" out the a.i.r. stuff so I dont get codes? Do they firm up the shifts [automatic]? I've never had a mail order tune so I was just wondering how they compare to a dyno tune.
Thanks for any info you can provide!
check the post I put in the z06 discussion section about an ECS mail order tune, worked out great for me. Not sure about the air tubes, I hooked mine up to the headers but if you call guys at ECS I am sure they can answer your question.

A mail order tune should work just fine for you with the mods you have and save you some money to boot. Either ECS or the one from Chuck at COW are good choices.

I had mail order tune from ECS and they tuned out the AIR codes. Also firmed up the shifts on the auto tranny. Car shifts much better and no codes!

Thanks Guys for the positive feedback.
To the OP - ECS mail order tune has many people smiling from ear to ear for a great price. Search the forum and see how many of your forum members are extremely happy with their ECS tune and ECS customer service.

Here is a link to our present $149 mail order tune special thread, from the amount of responses and views, I think it is safe to say that we do substantially more mail order tunes then any other shop on this forum, and we would love to make you a happy customer as well.
