Changed my antifreeze reservoir with no problem. but how do you get the anti from the inside of engine bay where it driped. I used simple green with no luck. Also so may wire connections there I didn't want to put to much pressure on the area. Something maybe I can brush on? Thanks frank
If you had a polished aluminum part.... Simple Green would ruin it.
I hate that liquid, I think (even diluted to nothing) is the worst mass produced (and consumed) product that should have been relegated to failure in the beginning stages. JUNK. It makes otherwise decent aluminum into splotchy spattermesses... and if you think that's a good trade-off for a clean surface then you must vote democrat.
I'd use nothing more than a basic mixture of Dawn detergent with water (if you have too) and use a hose for double time. Or.... better yet, go to a car wash, put it on high pressure rinse only (no soap) and blast the whole damned bay clean.
I worked at a 'Vette only dealership and have see Thousands of C5/6s high pressure blasted with Zero effects. (they always took care of LT1/4s though due to the opti)
-All those people saying you can't high pressure an LS1/6/2/3/7 are severely misinformed.

Do you think washing engine area at a car wash would cause a problem?

I have many times. But stand back and don't let the full force of the wash hit your engine bay. I have used soap and then rinse, then wipe/dry clean. Or you can skip the soap and spray it down with a good cleaner/degreaser and then rinse with the soft water selection without adding pressure by squeezing the trigger. that's what I typically do. get a spray bottle of a mixture of water/dawn and use that. (only a couple 2 or 3 drops of dawn is all you need) And wipe/brush, with a soft brush or cloth, and then rinse it off, and then wipe dry. I also typically cover my alternator
But you still have to be careful. dealers may do it full blast, but they don't give a ****, they're just trying to make it purty for a future buyer. And the workers at a dealership certainly don't care. And keep in mind they are only doing it one time, not weekly.

I think I will try this and do some scrubing. I was thinking about all the wire connections under the res.

Thanks for the info, I may just soap down at home and rinse off with water hose...it's not real dirty ...just would like it cleaner.
