Default New Sways Installed

I bought a set of C6Z51 sways and poly bushing from GMPartsHouse. A great price and great service, by the way.

Had them installed today on my 04 Commemorative (25k miles) and I'm happy with the results.

Steering feel is improved, flatter cornering, less floaty feel when slightly off center.

The difference is not "night and day", that's not what a wanted, but certainly more precise with a noticably better feel.

I'm not replacing the shocks at this time as I think the standard shock is good for around town rebound damping.

I was thinking about doing this mod. You have my exact car and mileage. Was good to hear your impressions of the changes. Think i may do this after headers. Thanks

I have the C6 Z51 sways with metal end links. The pieces came with the car NIB and I had them installed almost immediately upon purchase. I didn't really have enough serious cornering time in the car prior to the swap to comment on the difference.

Can anyone who has this set-up comment on what you're using for shocks? I was thinking of getting a set of GM C5 or C6 Z06 shocks. Suggestions?

Thank you for your business and for the positive feedback. I feel coupled with the C6 Z06 shocks it would be a night and day difference, but that is my opinion of course.

Congrats on doing a very good mod. Some day in the future I'll probably do the exact same change to my car.

I'd be real curious to hear how the headers work for you as I've been thinking about doing this sometime.

The car came with brand new GY F1 all seasons. I only drive about 5k miles a year. Tires can't burn off soon enough.

I have 98 that came with the F45 package. Several years ago I had the opportunity to run the car at Watkins Glenn with the original suspension, the car handled okay but not great. Later that summer I installed C6-Z51 sway bars and poly bushing, and then went back to The Glenn a huge difference in handling, much flatter cornering and with little over stir. Still not satisfied last year I installed C6-Z06 shocks. There was huge difference street driving under normal road conditions, spirited was the wow factor at the Glenn I easily hit the 5 - 10 miles per hour more than the year before and the car felt like it was glued to the road.

That's good to know. Plan to install mine soon hopefully, and didn't realize this was needed. Thanks for the info.
