starter issue
this may not be the proper place to discuss this since it was on my Yukon but if you read it you will see that it applies to our vettes as well.
my 02 yukon would not engage the starter. change the batt in the grocery store parking lot just hoping. the batt swap did not help so went home and got the floor jack and went back and jacked it up. had my wife energize the starter with the switch while i tapped on the starter. this engaged the starter and i was able to drive it home. went by the local parts store and got a starter and replaced it. when i connected the batt the starter engaged with the switch off. removed the starter to inspect my wiring and found no obvious issues. disconnected the small wire to the solenoid and the starter was still energized. took the brand new solenoid off of the new starter and replaced it with the old solenoid. no more problems. the moral of the story..just because the part you replaced is new doesnt mean that it is good.
