[Z06] Trick Flow's valve spring tool
Has anyone used this tool yet or heard of it being used. It's offered at Summit, TFS p/n TFS90306. I am installing LG's on my Z and will be swapping out all the valve springs since I'll already have one valve cover off and all the spark plugs out.
I have noticed a lot of talk about the Crane cams tool. This one looks pretty much the same and it's about $54.00 less money.
Thanks,

Driver's side valves swapped out last night. First pair of valve springs, pain in the @$$. I would not blame this on the tool, though. I bought a hose to pump air into the cylinder for pressure, it had a handful of threads and then an o-ring to hold pressure. Once I had removed the keepers it developed an air leak at the head connection; not sure if I didn’t have it tightened enough in the spark plug hole or it just didn’t have enough threads to be in there good. But as the air is rushing out my heart rate rose as I was fighting with the keepers. The compressor had to cycle a few times through out this process but the valves were fine. Once I got the keepers back in I switched to the air hose from a compression tester I had that was a higher quality adapter for the spark plug thread.
Here’s my tip: use a small flat blade screw driver to put some pressure on the piece of the tool that compresses the spring to move the retainer around the valve to allow the keepers to slid in evenly. Once I figured this trick out, I probably spent as much time on the remaining 3 cylinders as I did the first playing around with the keepers.
I would recommend this tool others, good bang for the buck.
If I remember I'll get a few pictures when I do the passenger side, especially explaining my use of the screwdriver to help keeper install.
But if you want a hand swapping springs, I can bring the tool and help out.

I've ordered my springs and valve seals from gmpartswarehouse. Have my TB and PCM out getting modified and right now my two sons are helping put in the Vararam. it's a pain but using the forum members pictoral really helps. (cajundude)
Thanks
Here's a picture of it:

You can see how few threads there are; Like I said, it's very likely (read almost assuredly) that I just didn't tighten it down enough, but it made me nervous. Probably many others who have not had a problem.
The compression tester hose I used was made by Actron.
