Default How much room will I need?

We're hoping the weather co-operates on Saturday and we can either drive or flatbed our new C5 home. But, since it is obviously a lot bigger then our MGB which took the left side of the garage before, I may need to do some rearranging so it will fit in with the MGBGT.
If anyone has done the math here, how much room do I need to park the Vette and easily crawl out of the driver side? Or, what is the exact width of the widest part of the car (with mirrors tucked in)?

Thanks

Top up or top down Or is there really any difference?

No difference really. There is 32" of clearance on the passengers side which isnt really necessary as long as we stagger the rearviews of both cars.

Your best bet is give it as much room as reasonably possible! These cars have low wide doors,,and the wider you can open it the easier you can get out.I'm 6'2" and have a hard top which does limit the options!Every few inches of opening increases or decreases the level of difficulty.

From taking the dimensions from the '99 Corvette Website, it states the car is 180" long X 73.6" Wide. Our 09 Mazda6 that resides with the GT is 194" X 80" So it looks like we're good to go. I could swear though, that the 'Vette looks bigger..

Do yourself a favour though, don't mess with the mirrors, the less they get handled the longer they will last.
Good luck with the new toy!

I did that too!....with my '76. I had it built to where I could open both doors fully and not hit the walls. Ended up being 12' wide, 24' long (allowed for a work bench on one end).

Now that I'm putting my '04 in there, it's not wide enough. I have to cheat it over to the passenger side a bit to get the driver's door fully open so my fat ol' 61 year old butt can get out with the minimum of swear words.
