You remove your current rear side marker lights and install the new plate. You can get it from GSCreations.com Thats where I got mine. Easy to do and it looks good.
$100 for a little plastic plate... wow. corvette tax galore.
If all you were buying was the plastic content of this piece I would agree with you. However, the tooling to make this piece was probably tens of thousands of dollars. In addition, the plastic injection molder did not make a small run of these parts for nothing. The cost of the set up and the labor to make the part plus the overhead of the company all go into making the cost of this part expensive. Oh, and did I mention that for all of this the company probably made a profit too? I realize that we do pay a "Corvette Tax" but in reality on this one I believe that this may be a fair price. I applaud the guy who made these as he took a risk to make something a little bit unusual so that he might make a buck. Contrary to popular opinion, corporations are not evil............they are just trying to survive and to do so requires a profit. I would give the guy a break and buy it if you like it. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
No insult to the guy who designed it. or is manufacturing and selling it but your putting a lot of if's in there.
It's a great idea and I'm glad he did it. but I don't need any fancy ******** on them, or your they are on Ebay for 70. and I'd personally rather do it myself, that's about what i make in a day of work. so spending a couple hours one evening tinkering makes a hell of a lot more sense to me.
I sent Rockgoped a PM and 2 e-mails on these. I even posted on his thread that I would take them. I haven't heard a thing. He hasn't been back on CF since these were posted. Almost looks like he posted with a link to e-bay in hopes we would go there and pay $20 more than what the price was in his thread.
