Hey folks my 99 has a small leak comming from either the oil pan or the drain bolt no more than 3 or 4 drops and the car hasn't been started in about 2 months is this normal the car has just under 30k on it.
It is common in a sense. I may have one as well, sometimes it seems like there's a couple of drops and others none.
I did some reading on it and found it could be the drain bolt, or the oil level sensor, or possibly the drain pan. Or in some cases a more serious seal.
Until you get it up in the air it's hard to know exactly where it's coming from.
My car developed a leak that seemed to come from someplace around the front of the oil pan. I determined that it was leaking through the oil pan seal in the area where the drain plug is. I turned all of the pan bolts approx 1/4 turn tighter and the leak is gone. I suspect that the torquing of the drain plug over several oil changes may have caused it. Hopefully, it is gone forever.

If only that it may just be from the last oil chg. Start it up let it run for a few min,s put a newspaper under at both spots then you will know.. No not the normal for a 30,k miles but it being a 1999 rubber does go bad plus look at that side of V/cover bolts see if they are good and all these car are bad for a leak if they get loose....Robert

I had a situation similar to yours. After the car sat for 2 weeks or so I would see a couple of oils spots on the garage floor. Driving at least every 4 or 5 days took care of the problem. Also using the Mobile 1 for older cars (I forgot what its called) may have helped. I assume this has more of an additive which helps older seals.
