lol 209... yes smoked tail lights are dangerous period...but its your own personal preference. i have black tail light covers but they are hard to see the brake lights through...which is why im asking what the most visible option still being able to have black tail lights would be. as for driving i never stay on someones *** and have someone on my ***... very careful to let people behind me stay a safe distance away, and if they dont i make sure to brake a very long time to give them time to see the vehicle is slowing down.

I'll try and get a brake light on shot tomorrow.....they are tinted from the outside. I think that's around 35-35%.

I had my tail lights and corners smoked the same time i did my windows. IMO the smoked vinyl tint looks a lot better full black out kits or vht. More subtle

Don't understand why one would want to lessen the chance of someone seeing your beake lights by doing this, even the least bit. I never see my tail lights while driving so why do I need em
tinted?

I tried smoking my tail lights once, couldn't keep them lit. Had to go back to cigarettes.

It was just a joke. I have never smoked (anything). Except a turkey at thanksgiving. Had a hard time keeping it lit, too.

I use the covers on mine and they look great - plus you can take them off anytime with no damage to the lights!

Got them from here: you can get just the rear covers or the kit that has the front turn and daytime running light covers

Here is a pic:

Thanks,Matt

Check with a window tint installer in your area. Most installers tint tail lights with a shrink tint material that can be removed easily when you get pulled over and get a ticket for it with no damage to the lights.
