Shaved my frc
Had some extra time so I decided to shave the 5.7L off the frcs. Took about an hour with my dual action orbital sander to smooth out both frcs.
I kind of like the way the black/yellow combo looks so I'll probably just do the letters yellow and the covers black.

Good choice. I don't have a 5.7 either.

Should look good when you are finished. I thought about doing this since my engine isnt 5.7 either but then I remembered they wouldnt fit my ls2 fuel rails

I'll be doing a black basecoat and a couple coats of clear for a nice high gloss finish.
Ive still got the 5.7L but the PO painted these and they looked kind of rough so I figured Id tinker around with them. Ive never been a fan of the lettering plus the engine isnt exactly stock so why should the frcs be stock?

Looks good. Be sure to use a high temp resistant paint. I had a friend paint his and it ended up bubbling.

I'll most likely go with some auto body grade base coat/clear coat.
Still trying to decide if I want to use those acrylic/plastic 3d letters in yellow for the "CORVETTE" or if I should paint and mask.
