Hi There..Took the car out today for the first time since Ocean City Show last Fall...I was abruptly reminded of a problem that started last summer.
When I open the rear lid ( 2002 Convertible ), It sounds like gears grinding-stripping. the deck does open, but then the latch seems to
" stick " in the Open position. This prevents me from latching the deck closed. Just finished removing the latch from the car, lubricated anything that moves. It still sticks occasionally in the open position. It looks like there is a sealed motor/gear assy. If I play with the emergency pull cord, I can get it to reset. Pulled power to the latch when it was stuck open to verify it wasn't being held open by a stuck relay..
Anyone else have this problem??
Guess I need a new Rear Latch??
Best place to get one...Price??

If you want a new one, I'd say gmpartshouse.com would have the lowest prices. For used, try a place like Corvette Recycling or see if Marc@vettenuts.com has one.
