I have an 02 zo6. The rear end cracked during a hard launch. I found one locally for a great price, low mileage too. Only thing is that it is out of a 2000 corvette 6 speed. Can I use this? Any differences between the years?

The Z had a 3 rib case which is stronger, The non Z had a standard case, If you already broke one Z case I would look for another Z differental and get a brace kit.
Just my opinion.

I believe so, But I wouldn't do it on a Z becuase of the extra HP the Z has. You could be in the same boat again. The Z has a better case and Harder gears I believe.
I'm pretty sure the 3-rib case is a function of year rather than model. The case out of my '02 coupe, which I transferred from my MN6 to my wife's A4, is the stronger version. The gears in the Z06, though, are shot-peened which essentially case-hardens them and makes them tougher than the gears in the stock 3.42 diff. Here's a shot of my 3.42 diff from my MN6 coupe.
