ok so i have never owned a GM car or truck and recently started looking at buying two and could really use your guys help at getting a good deal as i know how the market is and don't want to pay more than i could resell them for.
1st is a 2000 c5 convertible, 11,000 miles, garage queen, hud black on black lowered on coilovers (make unknown) headers and exhaust, procharged p1sc with intercoolers installed on stock motor. has "icon" custom wheels, (looked them up, 6,000$ for the set) 20x345 in the rear and i think 18" in the front. mini tubbed also for the wider wheel. very clean car, well done, not junk at all.
what do you think would be a great buy?
2nd 2003 cadilac escalade ext truck, 51,000 miles. black exterior on tan leather. garaged often, not driven much. complete custom. roof rack removed, rear roll pan bumper with parking sensors, back up camera, 24" custom black wheels. whole truck lowered evenly. added rear air bags to raise truck when towing. 1st gen manga supercharger m112 small one i think, with intercooler. cross drilled rotors, custom stereo with tv in passenger visor, tv's in rear head rests and dvd/nav player in stereo slot. also has upgraded speakers, tweeters added and a aftermarket 10" sub in factory location. amp under rear seats. very clean truck, looks awesome, not a crappy hack jack gangster truck but professional and clean.
what do you think?
i would really love your help and price ideas for a great buy on each as i am new to GM cars and trucks.
Sounds like you got it started already, check the FI & Nitrous section, a ton of post on this. There's a bunch of vendors that will make your $%^ turn white.
Sounds like you have a couple of good picks there. I'd say $26K for the Procharged Vette and $27.5 for the Caddie in this market. You might even be able to get them for less in this market with gas prices and all going up.
I disagree with the noob. Most of the vettes here are modified to some extent. Mine has been heavily modded for some time now with no problems. Pick the cars you want and buy them. You are the only one who knows what you want and what makes you happy.

watch out for any vette with engine mods....everything else is easily accepted on site, or easily replaced/repaired. The best deals are ones where most of the high dollar mods are already done. Coilovers, SS exhaust, headers, wheels, intake, and any gravy in the interior like stereo work, upgraded leather, steering wheel, etc. Like the post above said...there is a reason that car is being sold.
The above statement is not a generally true one. Not all modded cars are problems or abused.
Ya right. Then why in the world would guys spend a fortune modding them if they weren't running the crap out of them? Not talking about a CAI, or mufflers here.
Well thanks a ton so far for the advice however would love some more ideas on pricing. The vette is a garage queen 11,000 orig miles.
The Ext truck also super clean only 50k miles. Not a daily driver. This guy I want to buy them from wasn't selling them. He is my neighbor and I approched him about selling them. He takes extreme care of his stuff and has more money to spend on toys than he knows what to do with.
I am looking for prices which when I resell because I never keep any car longer than a year I'll break even at worse if not make money.
I'm not afraid of modded cars. I check them out or have them checked out if it is beyond my capabilities. Most modders know that when you mod your car the most you'll get is about 10-25 cents on the dollar for your mods.* I know there are a lot of folks that think mods bring more than that.... But, when it comes time to sell that's about what you'll get. Sold a few and bought a few. It seems to be understood by those that really sell their car and people that really buy those types of cars. The exception would be for show cars.... If done right they fetch about 50% back on their mods. Think about the dollars some of these guys have tied up in their cars. It's unbelievable.
They like to think of it as a hobby / therapy as I do. We never expect to get out what we put into them.
Hence the price I placed on the cars your looking at if all checks out and they are truly great cars with great mods.... no chips / fad / bald tires etc... A car someone loved and kept perfect is the type of car I am suggesting.
* If you part out your car you can get as much as 70% back on your parts.
