Default Considering Laguna Seca Blue Paint

I am not starting this to hear from anyone saying how stupid that is, or this is "rice". I am just fishing for other opinions on the color because I am up in the air if I should go with it. My baby was my DD for almost 2 years and right before winter someone must have hit me while parking next to it because the entire left side is scratched up. I was able to hand buff most out, but there are a few that are too deep to buff. All in all she needs to be painted. Originally I was just going to see if I can have that side fixed and keep it black, but now I am considering a color change. I have had 2 cars painted in the past, each time keeping original color, and both times wished I went with something else after.

One of my best friends went to school and works in a respected shop here in RI that paints cars daily. I have seen his work on his car (he color changed twice), and he just did his wifes car. All 3 have came out immaculate. He said he can give me what I feel to be an incredible price for a color change, but I will be helping him with the prep work. He said no more than 2000 for color change, and if I wanted to keep it black it would cost around 1000. I know paint jobs are 4-6k for a quality job, but again he is a very good friend and will be doing it on his own time. Plus I know if something ever did go wrong, he would fix it.

So to get back to the original topic, with these prices I am leaning towards Leguna Seca Blue. I think it will look very good on the Z06. I even unlocked my car in Forza just to look at my paint options. Originally I was going with yellow (always been a fan), but Laguna is different and a real eye catcher. I have some pics below of Laguna on other cars. The only thing holding me back is if I keep it black, it will be much cheaper, and I was hoping to get a C6Z if prices drop when a C7 comes out, but who knows when and if they will.

Oh and its a 2004 Black Z06 with black c6z rims and blackout kit if it matters

I think it has the potential to look really good. I say go for it, it'll be really unique since very few stray away from the oem colors

That's one of my favorite blues. I also really like Nogaro blue from Audi:

I think you'll get a variety of opinions about the color. I've learned one valuable lesson over the years. As long as you like it, it really doesn't make any difference what anyone else thinks. Enjoy! Semper Fi

When you stray away from OEM colors your resale takes a real hit. If resale doesn't matter then go for it.

Another thing to consider most accessories for the interior are only available in OEM colors. But if that's not something you do, then paint it whatever color you want.

I think it could look good on the car. And $2K for a complete color change is a really good price.

Yea that is really the biggest con to the blue. I planned on keeping the Vette for a long time, but I get greedy and have already been looking into the C6. Realistically I will probably have the c5 for a long time though.

I'm sure it will look great. Do it up. Depending on your wheels might be worth it to consider some accent paint on those too. I wasn't really a fan till I saw some in person and it really makes the right car stand out.

I say go for it! Especially considering the price of only $2k. It'll definitely be a drastic change for you, going from black to that! Kinda reminds me of Grabber Blue on the new Mustangs.

Yea agreed. I just am not doing it until spring, so I figured I would throw it up here and get some opinions. Yellow has always been one of my favorites.

I think it could look good with some black stripes. Ever since Supersonic Blue came out for the C6 I always thought it would look great on the C5 Z06 body style. Looks great with Black or Comp Grey rims. Black Fog light screems and Black brake duct screens would contrast nicely along with your blackout kit.
