Default Documentation?

Is it normal not to have much documentation on original, stock vettes (C4,5,6)??? Does/will if affect collectibility?

can't comment on "collectability" as that will always remain to be seen, but documentation always goes a long way to substantiate claims about the car when eventually selling (or representing it at places like NCRS events). self performed work, and work performed by other non corvette "specialists" even if documented with receipts helps, but always leaves doubt as to the quality of the work performed, etc, in my opinion.

I don't think that you have to worry about collectability on a C5 for a long long time. Just drive it, mod it and enjoy it.

^ Agreed. Too many of these cars were produced to be collectible in the foreseeable future, IMO.

Even the low mileage FRC that are in Arctic White or Nassau Blue will not be a true collectible for some time to come. It usually takes a little more time after they become NCRS qualified before you see them start to increase in value.

Go to www.corvettemuseum.com and join, then order a window sticker and build sheet on your car.

I keep everything on my car - factory stuff as well as any receipts for mods/service done to the car. I have a three ring binder for all the documents (except the window sticker/build sheet which are hanging on my garage wall). A lot of people don't really worry too much about all the documentation, but I figure if I have it, all the better.

Default IMHO keep records

Me I keep everything. in a three ring binder from the day I took ownership. to the last oil change and everything in between. a couple of years ago I was thinking of selling my vette. I was offerd less than I was asking by 3K to 6K less. I met this one buyer that I let test drive the vert w/ top up and then down. he wanted to take it to his mechanic for an inspection. I said no problem will go together. But before we do that I have something to show you, I went in the trunk pulled out my BOOK and said to him here is everything this car had done since I owed it. He look at it and said hell with the inspection anyone who does this is taking good care of thier car. He offered me exactly what I was asking for 25K. for a 2000MY Vert. gave me 500.00 check deposit, it was Sunday, I went home slept on it and call off the deal the next day. my car has never been for sale since. keep records it adds to your future sale.
