I just purchased a 2000 coupe and even before I took delivery of the car, I noticed that I couldnt tell a difference in the ride Quality between the 3 different settings of the adjustable suspension control, The dealer I got it from said that they checked it out and it appeared to be working properly and if it wasnt , it would throw a code and display it in the info center on the dash . I still cant tell if its working and i checked all the fuses that pertain to the suspension control and they all appeared to be good, and the wires going to the shocks appear to be attached to the shocks.. Is there anything else I can check that I might have missed
Thanks Pat
I thought the switch should be labeled: "Hard", "Harder" and "Hardest".
Two things you can do to get your F45 suspension to be all it can be:
1) Disconnect the battery for a few minutes. It seems to like this 'rebooting'.
2) If you have Goodyear runflat tires that are good for 200 miles of running flat...there is not much you can do.
When you replace the tires get something softer like Michelin runflats or anyone's non-runflats. You need a softer tire that you can lower the tire presssure and get a smoother ride. The GY runflats are so hard they just ride hard all the time regardless of tire pressure (they are runflats after all). They mask the differences in the F45 suspension.
"Tour" feels kind of sloppy. It's still not Buick soft but it takes the edge off...Not much good over 25 or 30 mph over bumpy roads. Any faster and it can't keep up.
"Sport" is firm and what I usually leave it set to for most roads and most driving. Good for fast driving over poor roads.
"Perform" is very firm and best for smooth highways at high speed. Feels like a Corvette should.
a few days ago I cleared all the codes and today I checked them again and I have 6 codes now
40BCM BO502H BORFA U1096H
B0507H U1064
B2482H U1016
As you know Ive been trying to find out why my F45 RTD suspension
doesnt appear to be working - atleast I still cant tell the difference between the settings but im not getting any failure codes for that system- the wires appear to be still hooked up . any ideas?

It's working. The selective ride control sucks. The difference between settings is barely noticeable, even less noticeable the more miles that are on the car. The problem is you're probably expecting more of a difference between the settings than there actually is.
Thanks , I hope your right about that , I have a 90 day warranty on the car and hopefully I wont have any problems I talked to other people that have it and they said they can definately tell when its working
I also have a 2000 but convertible (original owner, 39K miles) with the F45. To really tell the difference in the settings, you need to find a nice back country road and drive the vette pretty hard and fast. Test the sport and perform settings, you will feel the difference, not only in handling but steering feel too. But since you just got the car, I would hold off on doing this until your very comfortable driving it. Also, leave Active Handling and Traction Control on. Have fun!
Well they MAY give a code, but it will usually indicate a failure. If there is an internal shock malfunction like valving, you might not see any code. An easy test is to find some speed bumps and go over them with different settings, the "bounce" should change depending on the setting. If you just got the car you may have a challenge as the change is subtle, and a "learned" experience.
