Jacking pucks. Have a couple on hand, or install 4 permanently? Hard rubber or aluminum?

I have a couple and I keep them in the back. They're hockey pucks with a eyelet installed. I never use them however even when I jack the car.

Made mine from hockey pucks, eye bolts and nuts. Only put them in when jacking the car.

I would not recommend installing these permanently. I did this back when I bought my car & ended up lossing 2 of them. I will NEVER do that again, just throw them in the trunk & use them as needed.

I bought a set of four BMW jacking pucks for mine. Can be installed permanently but can be removed when needed. Part number from BMW is 51-71-1-960-752 (or it was when I bought them in '09).

I installed 4 of the permanently installed ones over 4 years ago.
I saw yesterday that they are still there.
