I have this feature on my BMW and end up really missing it when I drive the 'vette. I've seen other GM vehicles with this, has anyone found a way to retrofit this in a C5?
For those that don't understand, it's a feature where you breifly push the turn signal one way for a lane change and it blinks 3 times.
It's a small thing I know, but once you get used to it, it's kinda nice.
Maybe I am just "old school," but with hands in the 10 and 2 position, the blinker-stalk is at your fingertips and an easy push/pull to blink once, twice or whatever you choose.

My 2012 Explorer has it...I guess it's not considered a high end feature I like it...but, some day someone will get a ticket for not signaling a turn if you click it too soon.....make sure you time how long it stays on....let's hope the police will understand when you show them why your signal wasn't on when you turned. It really is meant for lane changes in traffic, but nothing stops you from using it on a left or right turn too.

Have had it on previous cars, but don't really miss it on the C5. Haven't seen any retrofit kits or even anyone wanting to do this - at least not posted on here.
<== guilty. Although we dont have the feature, on the highway I usualy hold it down till it blinks twice (as long as there is a good amount of room, like ten or more car lengths between me and a car in the lane Im merging into).
I was under the impression that you were supposed to indicate a lane change 300 ft prior to crossing the line when there was room. Now maybe at highway speeds you might cover some distance in two blinks but on a 30 mph street Im not sure you would cover much distance even in three.
Just find it odd that they would have a feature like that.
I mean I do it, but I feel like it borders on an improper lane change.

Thats a long long signal time. 88 ft per sec 60mph and 44 at 30.

If it just so happens an LEO is the car behind you, and you are signaling too early with the feature, you will not be signaling when the actual turn occurs...a real gray area regarding the law. I think you would still risk a ticket because the only car knowing you were turning was the car behind you, but those in front and to the sides would not get the alert.

Exactly, so that means max 264 ft warning that you are changing lanes at 60 mph and 132 ft at 30. The 300 ft thing may just be something stuck in my head and not a real requirement, I was just noticing that three blinks seems like a short warning. This from a guy who does two on the highway
