I would definitely agree with all of the guys saying it's a "Country" thing. Country music has ingrained the idea in people's heads of a "guy and his truck." That same guy probably wears flannel and cowboy boots too.

At my high school everybody is about the trucks and having them lifted and rims and all that stuff. Some of them are cool, but I dont care what somebody says about my vette. Its cooler than their trucks. My girlfriend likes my car so im good, dont cave man!

You should have both.... Like the other guy said you can't haul a boat, wave runners and quads with the vette. But with that said don't listen to her you should have what you like.

I have both and couldnt be happier. 2002 Corvette, 2002 F250 Crew Cab Powerstroke. They complement themselves well. I would ditch the Z, those things are horrid.

I live in the heart of hillbilly heaven. North east Texas, so I feel your pain. Good thing I bought the car for my own enjoyment and not to pick up chicks. That's what my ratty old dually is for. Lol

You know what's funny, is that marketing nowadays has driven the idea that if you tow ANYTHING, you NEED a truck. Like you really need a full-size truck to tow 2 snowmobiles, or 2 waverunners, or a 1500lb boat. It's overkill if you ask me, and probably over 50% of all 1/2 ton owners never even tow more than groceries. My dad used to tow his 2-place snowmobile trailer with his '78 Grand Prix.

Gone are the days of towing with cars. Consumers automatically think that they need a truck with a 9000lb towing capacity to tow their 1000lb waverunner and trailer combo!

Nope,
my wife is from tx and she grew up around classic camaros and mustangs. for a wedding present she bought gave me a 68 mustang. when i made E7 she gave me a 72 vette, just for the hell of it one day she came home and said, "there is a real nice black corvette for sale at the dealership on the way home from work. lets go take a look"

On our club coffee nights in the Winter, the parking lot is changed from Vettes to trucks! Most of the guys have some type of business which is why they drive them as DD. But all the spouses/gf would rather be driving the Vettes instead.

Women are from Venus - men are from Mars..... there's no point in trying to understand them. Just nod your head yes and then do whatever makes you happy.

and just what's wrong with a truck? Buy an old classic, to go with your vette and you'll both be happier.
