I've changed many window regulators in my day, but never one in a Vette. Passenger side just started clicking, like the solenoid is getting power, but not activating the motor. Usually the arms brake or nylon bushing fall apart on most cars. Does this sound like a usually breakdown for a Corvette?
I priced out the change at 2 local dealers. Chevy dealer wants $600 total parts and labor, GMC dealer about $500 parts and labor. Apparently you can't just replace the motor, you have to buy the whole banana.
I wanted to be lazy, but not at that price. I can do it myself and would like to know what am I getting into?
All your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have replaced a few in Corvette's, It is an easy job, You do need the whole unit, Regulator and motor are one unit, You will find after market and factory, Save yourself heartache and buy GM, You can find them on like for around 175-200.
It will take about an hour to replace, No need to spend 600 bucks at the dealer.

I bought an aftermarket one off Amazon. Made by VDO. It's just a tick slower than the OEM, not noticeable unless I lower/raise both windows at the same time. Easy to replace, took me about an hour without reading any instructions whatsoever.
I just replaced mine with a new GM unit last sunday. Spent more time worrying about the install than the one and a half hours it took to do it. There is a very good video on you-tube that will help.

Having had both, I would rather buy a used GM Factory than a rebuilt aftermarket, The aftermarket one I bought was really slow going up and down and that interfered with my WV.
