Since it was a beautiful 74 degrees here in PA today, I figured it was a good time to do a little clean up of my engine bay. I spent about 25 minutes(didn't do a full on detail, just a good clean up), and for that amount of time I'm happy with it. It was certainly one part of the car that was disappointing me a bit.
If you really want to make it sparkle...check out the Griot's Garage engine detail kit. It's a cleaner followed by a silicone spray.
It really made mine pop!

I'll definitely check it out! Thanks for the suggestion
Looks great for 25 minutes!'
What process and cleaners did you use?
I used Meguiar's Natural Shine. Recommended for use on vinyl, plastic, and rubber. I usually only ever used this on my interior, dashboard, etc. But I was really itching to get the engine bay cleaned up a bit, and figured that this product might actually work pretty well considering most of everything in the engine bay that was dirty was plastic or rubber. It did great imo! It has a very nice finish. Not oily or greasy looking. I used one of my applicator pads for it, it was great for getting into the nooks and cranny's. Took a hose to it when it gathered too much gunk and it cleaned it right out. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the fuel rails turned out, especially the lettering.
Been DD for two weeks, REALLY want to put it away soon, but can't justify it when getting 28 mpg. But I have a beater for a reason. Once this beautiful teaser of weather goes away I'll have to park her for a while.

Did you see the Northeast forecast for next week? Just as good! Drive it!
