I went to do replace the MGW shifter that my car came with and swap in a C6 Z06 shifter. Unknown to me that the MGW does not have the plastic pivot cup bushing on the bottom. So I need one and you can not buy ythem from the dealer. I have found one guy on ebay that selss them for $25 each which sounds pricey for small piece of plastic. I will buy it from him if i have to but i need it yesterday. Does anyone know of a place or replacement option for this part?
They're not available separately from GM or the after market. Be patient, the plastic retaining ring for the shifter boot wasn't available from GM or the after market either. Then someone came along with a metal wire replacement. Customer demand. The seller with the $25 bushing knows that.
Finding someone else who's installed an MGW shifter and still has the bushing is probably your best bet. Try a WTB (or WTT ad for your MGW) ad in the classified sub-forum.
The MGW shifter doesn't take the black plastic pivot cup. If you notice the pivot ball on the MGW shifter is much larger so it takes the place of the OEM pivot cut.
