How are you guys doing it? Just bought a C5 and it will be a track only car. What are you guys who don't have access to a proper lift doing to get under the car?
I stack the 2x4's under the legs of the jack stand, and only extend the stands aprox 1/2 up. Then I usually put 1 small piece of 2x4 between the top of the stand and the part of the car it will rest on.
This has suited me well, even did and engine R&R, and 2 exhaust changes this way. [knocks on wood] no problems so far...
That's what I figured. I did the exhaust on an '00 coupe 12 years ago, just can't remember what the heck I used. For some reason I was thinking there was some kind of voodoo magic to it.

I'll be doing any work inside my warehouse, after hours. The car stays outside, and I can't leave anything permanent in place as they work in my area during the day. I have approx 10,000sf, more than enough, just nothing I can't clean up every night.
Well, I use two jacks and 4 1995 ZR1 (17x12) rims. I like the suspension to be set as if it was on the ground. Since these rims are very wide they give me the clearance I need.
I have two sets of Rhino Ramps. Drive up on the front wheels, then jack back up and place rear ramps under. A poor man's lift. Get's car level for checking all fluids and there is access.

this is how I do it. I don't have a low enough profile jack to fit under the front. If it needs to go higher, i jack it up higher than the ramps take it and use jack stands under a 2x8. The rhino ramps probably wont do me much good after i lower the car though unfortunately. I'll have to build my own.

Thanks!
I couldn't imagine at my age but 'back in the day' we used to just keep jacking up corners and putting things under the wheels or body until it was high enough to do what we wanted. Jack stands for safety and slide a tire under each corner just for safety.
As a side note.... join a Corvette club, bet there are several members who love to get involved in others projects!
My grandfather actually dragged me out from under my '72 Nova because I had it on concrete blocks. Hell, I was dumb and didn't know any better at 18.

Jacking pucks, good low profile floor jack and some good jack stands. And if I need to get all four wheels off the ground, I use a pair of Rhino Ramps in the front.
