Default new vette HELP

I just bought a 98 c5 vette standard 6 speed with CAI and exhaust cutouts from a dealership (this is all that is done with it as far as i know) i was wondering if you flip to the straits with the cutout switch standard if the exhaust doesnt go through you 02's and causes your check engine light ot come on??????
Also just wondering what all i should look over and what basic bolt on mods i can get to increase hp and still get good milage???????

it has almost 44000 miles on it

your question is a bit confusing. if i understand it correctly (and i'm not certain that i do. i'm really just guessing on what you are asking), the answer to the question regarding the O2 sensor would depend on the mounting location of the cutouts. if they are located in the normal position AFTER the cats and all the sensors, then under normal circumstances you shouldn't get any "error" messages like check engine, etc. if you bought the car at a GM dealership you should have them run a GM maintenance record for you (NOT a carfax). it will tell you all the work performed on the vehicle by a GM dealership. while it certainly isn't complete, it will at least give you an indication of some of the services performed on the car, like warranty work and recalls attended to. a carfax isn't a bad thing to have either as it will give you a basic history of your car. one of the biggest things you want to verify is that the steering column lock bypass has been installed so you won't experience a situation that leaves you stranded somewhere.

good luck with your new purchase.
