I am a new member to the forum, and I am searching for a fix for a surface scratch on the hood. it is not all the way through the paint on a 2001 speedway white about 8" long and very thin (looks like a key scratch). is there a filler or simple solution. thanks for any suggestions.
Depending on the severity, I've seen some have success with a product called Dr Colorchip and Langka(sp?)
thanks for the advice but these 2 sections deal with paint and car cleaning inquiries. i have not seen any discussion for key scratches or similar. is there an amateur method to cover scratch professionally?
The only thing cheap DIY, would be to try that stuff that they sell on the TV commercials and in some auto stores, scratch stick or whatever it is called. If that does not work then you can get a book on auto paint fixes and attempt to do it yourself or take it to a shop..............................We help with fixes, but we are not magicians.
I recently has a small scratch on my Torch red fender, in the clear coat. I wet sanded it, compound, sealer, then wax. It's gone. But you have to know what you are doing.

Look here at Adams Polishes - it is what I use, these are series of Videos and a couple deal with scratch repair -
No better way to do it by being able see it done with your eyes
I bought a random orbital polisher. If I take my time I can usually take out most scratches if they're not too deep. I figured the cost for one body shop visit would pay for it.
