Default Questions about vendors

I emailed a vendor's customer service regarding their product that was less than stellar and explained the problem and requested their position regarding what they could do for me since the package was opened. No response to date. This is a major vendor on this forum. The second vendor that I was dealing with did reply but was very confusing(to me at least). I ordered parts that were noted online as in stock with a number of parts available. My card was charged and I did not receive a tracking number. So I wrote and called them. The email and the phone call gave me the news that they did not have it in stock and that is how their program is set up (to fool me/other buyers??) and that it was being direct shipped from the manufacturers, but they did not know when 'cause the company did not respond to their inquiry. Needless to say I cancelled my order and was told that my credit charge would be refunded. This is another vendor on the forum. I won't name these vendors, but I just wanted to know if other members have experienced similar scenarios.

First off it would help if we knew who the vendor was and then we would be able it give you inout on said vendor.
You would be surprized how many vendors don't stock items and when you order it is dropped shipped to you.

Corvette America and Vette Nuts. When vendors show the item is in stock, it should be in stock!

I had similar experience with Midamerica, then bought same item from Corvette America with no problem. Go figure!

I've purchased stuff from Corvette Central, the forum store, MidAmerica, and others and always had good service and prompt shipping. If something was coming from the manufacturer direct, I would be advised and given a timeframe for receipt of the merchandise. This is the first time that things have not been smooth. I will note that Vette Nuts did immediately offer a refund since he noted that I was not happy. The problem was that I wanted what he was selling but not under those conditions. Time to go to Ebay for my parts; if I get less that top customer service, I know who to blame

I would put in a dispute with my credit card company, the vendor will usually respond at that point, at least to the card company.
