Default Traction on Michilin pilot super sport

I just bought some michilin pilot super sport 305/19/25 in the rear and for the first few hundred miles or so, i was spinning tires as usual when i stomp on first, and shift into second it spun the whole 2nd gear almost. But after driving a few hundred miles on them I ll be lucky if i get a little tire spin shifting into 2nd. I have an 02 zo6, head and cam with 424 whp and 406 rtq. Is that right? These tires make that much of a difference? Or did my zo6 lose power? It did once before and i had to get it retuned and got the power back. I goes fairly well but doesnt seem as fast for some reason. Maybe the humidity and hotter weather now plus the tires gripping is what I am thinking but not for sure because what happen before. Thanks again.
