Default Dic question

I changed my oil yesterday but the 'oil life remain' on the dic won't reset when I hit the reset button. If I hold it down for a few seconds I get _ _ _%. Any ideas? Thanks.

The easiest way to reset the monitor is to turn on the key, don't start the engine, and press the accelerator pedal to the floor 3 times, then turn off key.

Here's another way from the manual. The important part is "without the engine running".

To reset the CHANGE OIL SOON message after an oil
change, do the following:
1. Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
2. Press the TRIP button so the OIL LIFE percentage
3. Press RESET and hold for two seconds. OIL LIFE
is displayed.
REMAIN 100% will appear.

Thanks. The reset button wouldn't do it but the accelerator did the trick.

With the car off, hold the button down a little longer. Works on mine.
