Ok, couple of questions, three of them really. First, my car is a 99 auto, 3.15 car. Mods right now include custom tune (done from a local guy on hp tuners) XS power LT's, 160 thermo, xpipe, no cats, CAI dual cone, smooth air coupler, and of course the performance hood seal (k, last two I know amount to nothing, but though I would include them for some humour).
1. What is the best guess this car would run on summer only tires (zo6 size) as it is, and best guess on HP/Torque as it sits?
2. I think I might have purchased an LS6 intake and ported throttle body (if offer accepted), how much will this help now and in the future? and what do you think my 1/4, hp, tq would be with this added?
3. next planned power mod would be a cam swap. I want a cam that makes good power without too much lope at idle. Mostly a street car, so do not want to have to add high stall. What would be the best cam to go with, and supporting parts (springs, etc) that i will need? Want to keep power band in the 1500 -6200 rpm range again, as it is a street car. What numbers could I expect with this as well?
Mainly, my goal is to be able to keep these new mustangs behind me. that coyote engine with 412hp is a bit scary, lol.
I also posted this in perf. results, but less people look at stuff over there.
The way it sits prob around 325-330rwhp. Add the ls6 intake not that much maybe 5-10rwhp. At the track assuming good traction 12.70's. Bone stock new 5.0 might do 12.70's on a lucky day. You can't be too picky on a cam without a stall so with that being said I would do a stall with 342 rears and that my friend will be the perfect combo for you on the street. Add a cam to that and you could go high 11's
In the 11's would be super fast for sure. But, I wouldn't mind being a bit slower if I could skip the stall. Really want to get close over 400hpthe (flywheel), and I figured that there would be a mild cam that could do that with my set up.
