I roll about 140,000 miles a year (and Don't run a CB thank you.
) but can say I see very few vette guys acting the fool with their cars and I spot them right off the bat. No body loves speed any more than I do but I lock in no more than 7 over and never have a problem. I do roll a little harder with the big truck than the car but 37 years OTR and keeping it under 10 mph over the posted I"ve made Yuma AZ to Norfolk Va. in 43 hours 15 minuets so that speed is not needed to make time. Keeping that left door shut is the key.
Stopped running Calif 2.5 years ago but friends have told me CHP has really stepped up the speed thing out there.
Carolina still uses mostly the old style radar but now they sit on the on ramps and pop you in the back when you go by. Like the others have said, its to late to jam the brakes when you get it in the rear.

Grandfather was a ham and got me into playing with radar. Even with the old style X,K, if your the number one target and it has a switch on it your dead in the water if the officer has half a brain and has used the unit for just a little while. I still have two and one between the seat of the dodge pickup. I've had more fun with that thing and I think its standard for the 4 banger cars to have a radar detector before they have a motor so when those kids use others cars as their own personal race track they become my enjoyment for a little while at least.
I get to watch all the crazys from the balcony view and the crap I see out there every day sorry guys, I support LEO 100% if you feel you need to roll 10 to 15 mph+ over when there is others around you.
On a race track you have a general Idea what the guy beside you is thinking.. On that HWY, you don't have a clue. When LEO is present, they don't get to see the crap I see and its a zoo out there at some of the moves people make thinking its safe.
Drive safe, and with traffic, don't the the leader and don't be an idiot.< Got my vote anyway.

Nobody ever beleives this, but for me, I would say maybe 9 out of 10 stops end in a warning. I don't write speed unless i have seen you before, 15 over, or the weather is bad. I really just want the drugs/drunks that you find on traffic stops.

Running alone, get your license and registration out.
My V1 gives me incredible highway warnings,,,longest to date 7 miles, but that was because the LEO was shooting at other cars way ahead of me only fairly flat terrain. The V1 is great protection be nothing is perfect!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

The "L" designation on the V1 display panel just means "Laser". The circuitry inside is tuned to detect the 904nm wavelength laser pulses that LEO laser guns in the U.S. use.
