Default removing stock Ti catback

I'm trying to take off my catback in order to polish up the tips (and i kinda just want to start it up once with no mufflers to hear the earth shake)...

Really easy to unbolt and remove from the hangars, but I can't seem to maneuver it off of the car. The issue seems like it is the rear sway bar.

Any input? Do I need to move/remove the rear sway bar?

Thanks,
Jason

unbloting and removing the swaybar helps gain clearance but this job is extremely difficult / dangerous without a lift.

here is a good vid with instructions.

Takes 34" clear to bottom of bumper cover to get it out.

Put it on a lift the drop the rear sway bar. Takes 5-10 minutes. Be prepared for it to be LOUD when and fi you start it up without the mufflers on there lol!!

drivers side comes right out, it is the passenger side that you have to swing pretty much straight down so the whole thing has to clear the ground. And if you ever do an A4 take off the passenger side gas tank heat shield. Ask me how I know. lmao Thankfully I just bought a used Kwik Lift, what a dream it is to work on any car now....

If your just cleaning the tips, you should be able to remove the muffler hanger and lower them down enough to clean (i don't even take mine down to clean them). Just a thought... but the car does have to go WAY up to take out the mufflers and easier to remove the center brackets on the sway to slide out of the way. not worth the trouble to remove them off the car to clean them.
