Like the math ! I calculated my 68mph run and it works out .3mpg shy of actual. I'm going to play with it and see what it really yields at different numbers and try to match those on my long freeway runs.
If you are semi **** about this, you will quickly pick up that any delay or sitting will drop your average like a rock. If you could actually drive at 40-50mph for an extended period, your car would get well over 30 mpg. Reality is an average 40 mph tank is X miles at zero, Y miles at 20, Z miles at 60, etc.
Getting more technical, the estimated range for tank is way off at the start of the tank, but gets closer to reality as you get past half tank. It's apparently some programming error which acts like your tank is bigger than it really is. My car can approach an estimated 500 mile tank when you add miles traveled plus range. Anyhows, it's a lot of fun to watch the average mpg and mph, particularly when you start out at zero miles.
Side note-my 60 gets ~10 in town, up to 16 on the highway, about half what the Z will do.

Just got back from filling the Vette up with gas. Did some calculations and my numbers are 15 mpg over ten tank fulls. The car is stock. Runs great. We're not speed demons. I read about people getting high 20's ,low 30's all the time in The Forum. My wife says they must be the ones who need the skip shift bypass!
My friend I just came from New York to Tennessee with my 01 and it got 24 or better and only because I had my foot in the carb. consider these HP tuners and see what happens. thas ken
