I need some help with my hook up and hope that someone wont mind sharing some insight. My car is a 2000 Corvette Coupe. I purchased a DD Bezel from Dennis. I have a Kenwood DNX 8120 with a Kenwood CMOS 300 Camera. Its hooked up right now that I can get the camera working only when I press the "NAV" button on the Head Unit for two seconds. I cant get the camera to come on when the vehicle is in reverse. I followed the directions outlined in the manual and did not connect the purple and white wire coming out of the HU wire adapter. It states that this procedure is not required when the HU has an RCA connection specifically for camera. The Kenwood DNX 8120 does. When I put the car in reverse, the camera does not come on.
At a loss, I decided to run a wire from the reverse light at the rear of the car to the front and made the connection to the purple and white wire coming out of the HU wire adapter. I tested the wire to ensure that I was getting power when the gear shifter was put in reverse and it does. The problem is that the camera still doesn't come on when in reverse.
I'm at a lost as to why the camera wont come on when the gear selector is in reverse.
