Looks great from a distance...any problems you can share regarding application of the spray? I've wanted to do the Ferrari camel tan interior in mine for some time now...you've inspired me bigtime!
something like this....
Clean, clean, clean, and then clean some more! SEM Paint color coat doesn't cover very good so plan on triple the cans you think to use. 3 cans for the dash, 2-3 cans per door panel. 2 cans for clear coat on dash. 2 clear coat cans for door panels.
Spray a few light coats then spray heavier to keep overspray down. IF I WERE TO DO IT AGAIN, I'd buy quart cans instead of spray cans and use my paint gun.
Honest opinion, I like all the red pieces other than the dash top and the air bag. I would have left those black and painted the glove box and the driver's knee bolster red instead.... But that's just me.
You have made the dash top the focal point of the interior where it should have been the speedo surround and the radio surround. IMHO.
Don't know yet, but after driving to town with the sunshine so intense, I think I've burned out all of the red cells in my retina's. I'm red blind now.
Seeing your pic takes me back to the days when my C1 vette's dash matched the seats and door panels. I had a black 57 fuelie with red interior. The one thing I remember with the red top dash and the lighter colored dashes was they really reflected badly into the windshield and sometimes made it very hard to see through the windshield and the glare nearly blinded me sometimes on a sunny day.

1958 vette
That's the iconic look of classic Vettes. But that's also the main reason I chose a SATIN Clear coat.
Rick not my cup of tea. However, the workmanship looks awesome! Truly looks factory, like it came that way from the general.
Congrats on taking your car & making it yours......
I know it's too loud and proud for some, and that's alright by me. I love being in this dream car and certainly ain't shy about it. After customizing wild bikes and doing the show circuit as well as the dragstrip....it's only natural I make this mine!

I applaud your ability to express yourself! That's true americana to me. I know I would feel really anxious in that interior but... People doin their own thing are what make this passion for cars so fun and I can appreciate you. Thanks for sharing and like someone else said, nice craftmanship
I think I will take a break going forward on red interior. Just put the cluster in last week, not sure where to go from here but think the dash is just a bit more than I want.
Do do love the cluster though!

Very well said tbrent that is what makes it what it is in the car world..If you love it that is truly all that matters...Again to the OP very very nice work on the car man... Robert
Love the red, but I question the finish on the radio surround and console. Too glossy now for the rest of the interior, or just the camera playing tricks?
From: Should this thoughtful, valuable contribution meet with no acknowledgement or 'thanks' this post----
