Default Removing console end ?

How difficult is it to remove the rear portion of the console in a 2003 coupe? I can see I need to remove the console padded top, I assume just put the lit in it's uppermost position, and once it's off what do I do next ? Thank you !

You do not need to remove the padded door to remove the rear console.
All you need is to open the console lid, you should see two caps toward the back that pop right off. Underneath them are 2 nuts 10mm, remove them.
Next you can pry the cover that hold the traction control button from the back ( inside the console) with a tip of a screwdriver and the cover will pop off.
Underneath it are 2 nuts, 10mm, take them off and you should be able to take the back console off.
You will need to disconnect the connector to the power outlet and the connector to the gas door switch ( this one is a bit tricky).
Hope that helps.

Emphasize tricky for the gas door connector.

Here's some pictures, don't go past steps (2) and ignore the convertible waterfall removal if you have a coupe.

there is a nut towards the back of your e-brake (to hold the e-brake down) that the console can get hooked onto, I remembered it messing with me the first time

Just look on the Vette Essentials web site - the instructions there are what I used when I recently took my console base, radio bezel and knee bolster out and replaced them with painted pieces.

Many thanks 65GGvert,

I'm not going all that far, but the 36 pages gives me the security to have a course to follow. And THANK YOU to vette essentials for the great blue print to dis-assembly !

Thanks again !
