Default Starting issues.

Normally in the C2 forum but have an issue with my 98 vert I thought someone may have encountered. Had a 3 1/2. Interstate Battery in the car , started right up after winter storage while on a battery tender. Went to start it a couple weeks later and nothing, battery appeared to be dead. Put a new battery in and the same thing, nothing upon turning the ignition key. But after turning the key a few more times, it started right up. Alternator gauge indicated it was working. Almost certain its the starter or bad cable connection at the starter. My concern is a bad ground somewhere, or something drawing the battery down. Any thoughts or similar experience? Tx.

Did you hear the starter solenoid do its major click? If not, did you hear a small click in the passenger footwell? If not, do you have a manual transmission, therefore the clutch switch? Is the security light in the IPC continuing to flash past the normal?
