At the Detroit Auto Show there was one manufacturer that had a full size pick up truck all painted in what looked like that black bedliner stuff, texture and all. Looked different and presented well. Not sure how I'd like that a few days later though.

Sounds like ultamate REDNECK. Maybe a gallon of latex paint and a brush is what you really need.

OH SNAP!!!!

Op, if your thinking about spraying your car with this stuff I think would look horrible. If you really want to go this route then spend the cash and get a vinyl wrap instead. It's more durable, easy to maintain, and will not peel. It can also be taken off when ever you want. JMO

I love how everyone jumps on this as the world’s greatest sin. I have owned Corvette's on and off since 1968 and believe it or not it is just a material item that we own. Sure I love my C5, but if I want to paint it with a paint brush that is my prerogative and no one else. Besides this stuff will simply pull right off if you don't care for it. Would I do it to mine most likely not, but that is not to say that no one should try it.
There is a member that posted a week or so ago that had a video of a complete car done in it. They sell a complete kit to do your car. He was planning doing his C5 in the Matte finish. Try a search.

In for pics! They make different colors of Plasti dip too. I actually think it would be a cool idea. I love my black Vette, but I've always wondered how it would feel to drive a yellow one... plasti dip???

tripleblack, there is a whole thread of guys who have done some dippin to their C5's...do a search...i have 10 cans on stand by when ever i get around to being creative!

it looks nice...and yes it peels off when YOU want to...durable as vinyl IMO and even if it scratches, you can just peel and repeat...

I don't think I'd have the ***** to do that to my car, especially in the driveway. Does that stuff dry instantly? What about dust, bugs, etc. getting on it while you're spraying? I do like the finished look.

There was a fellow here a couple of years ago that covered his whole car using that sticky vinyl wrap stuff.

Didn't turn my crank.....

Its funny but my previous post was made about a hear ago and I kind of ridiculed the idea. Last summer a friend of mine in his tricked out 370z plastic dipped his car all in black and it wasn't really that bad. Some parts had runs but he was getting redone. Its not the worst thing I've seen done and if you don't like it you can take it off. If you like the shinny look you can use a glossifier as well. Post pics when your done

Lot of chrome heads in here, beware, if you do it. Do it with a spray gun. That's the best finish, i'm thinking matte white myself.

Lol; yes, I noticed it was a year old; however, I thought it would be pertinent to bring it to live since I'm doing mine.

Yeah, I hear you on the chrome purists, but I prefer a less corporate look. It's being sprayed with a gun and funny you mention it, it's in matte white.

I was talking about the whole body, not chrome parts.
