bought my C5 Jul2003 (at age 43 for my retirement!). Still not retired yet. Car has been garage kept and has <30K miles. Drove from NJ to PA yesterday with no issues. Went to back the car out of the parking spot and could not get it into reverse gear. Actually seems like there is a "solid block" that forces me into 6th gear. Car runs fast/great in all forward gears. What is the issue with reverse? I already tried pushing/rocking the car in 1st gear based on a Google search. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance....parking in pull thru spots for now.
As stated by Dennis01, to the right and up is reverse. If that isn't the issue, your solenoid which prevents you from shifting into reverse while driving forward and aiming for 5th isn't working. The solenoid is about $60 if I remember correctly.
I'll say so, you can get a straight shot at once you're under the car, might have to feel around a bit to find the bolts, since it near the 2oclock position on the trans
