I previously posted in what I considered a "General" vs "For Sale" Section thread on the forum and had the post revoked when offering a neutral position after a CF member asked for user vs vendor feedback -- post was revoked because I did not "advance the sale" for that particular vendor.
So lets try this again...I have both the Vette net and the WR. Like the permanent mount when putting the top up, not much difference with wind, and the brake light illumination feature is worthless during the day.
Hopefully this honest criticism (not an advancement of a vendors sale but an advancement of Vet owners product education) remains so other users can also offer their opinion.
It's these honest opinions of others that have guided me over the last 8 years in my own mod journey.

I've had the Windrestrictor for a few weeks now, but installed right before doing a drive from Dallas to LA, up the PCH to San Fran and back, so I've had a lot of time with it. I got the base unit, with no extras so I can't comment on the lighted features. My impressions:
1. It very nice to be able to leave it in all the time and still be able to operate the roof.
2. It definitely does make a noticeable difference to the amount of wind that comes back around into the cabin, BUT this is directly related to how tall you are or how high you sit in the car. I'm 5'10" and with the seat raised maybe 1/2" off the full down position and the top of my head still does get a decent amount of wind coming in from behind. However my fiance is only 5' and sits with her seat raised almost all the way up, and she gets very little wind from behind.
3. I have noticed a shortfall that probably isn't present on the Vette Net. Due to the design of the Windrestrictor, air coming in from the rear is pushed down and into the cabin around the center console area. This isn't a big deal when the temp outside is moderate, but when the temp starts getting cool, it can be an issue. I don't know that there would be anyway they could have done the design differently due to the design of the waterfall, but it is a shortcoming.
Also recommend logo vs lettering because of the reversed lettering view from front. About half the vendors got it wrong on the compatibility with the rear noise covers...they don't work together. Only real plus is its permanent and rear view is unobstructed.

Thanks for the critique, it answers my questions. I'm about 5'11 and the wife is about 5' 6", so I don't think it would be worth the investment. I sure was hoping it'd be the answer
I'm 6'1" and my wife is 5' 4" The rerstrictor stops the wind from hitting the back of your neck at 70 m.p.h. On cooler nights ( I live in the Great White North) I just put the heat on.. We have no problems driving when it is in the 50'S .
I bought mine with no etching but I did get the lighting..
When I want to use it in the evening, I just plug into the recepticle in the center console... NOTE Don't open the console at speed if you have papers or anything light.. It blows away real fast..
Went for a 150 mile trip on Thursday, average 70 m.p.h. in total comfort.
with the top down and 54 F ............................Ed
P.S I got orange lighting to go with my Atomic Orange paint.....
I too have just installed the Windrestrictor.I am 5'7" so I most likely get better results that taller people. In town driving, it makes it a lot more easy to hear the radio and to talk, but on the open road with the top and windows down you can forget about it.

I'd still recommend it. Like donzi1 says, it will stop the air on the back of your neck. I really wasn't trying to say the wind on the top of my head was bad, just that it's there. Trust me though, on cool nights/days, blocking the air on the back of the neck makes a big difference that is well worth the money. When we were driving the PCH through Big Sur, we had the top down and it was probably only low 60s outside, but we were both perfectly comfortable in the car with the windrestrictor.
The wind restrictor sells like hot cakes. They are an awesome investment for greatly reducing the wind turbulence. Imagine being able to save life on the speakers and your hearing. The best part is once you put it in you don't have to ever take it out unless you want to.

Andrew, you've obviously missed the point of this thread. We know you're going to talk them up. How about users of this product?
I was speaking from my personal experience. I've ridden/driven in several Vettes with the Wind Restrictor as well as installing several as well. There is a moderate difficulty in installing them and they look and work fantastically.
Don't take it personal Andrew, but the moderators took away my free speech on a "supporting vendor" thread where I did no more than give honest feedback.
Any vendors with this product will in fact give a bias opinion. Thus why were looking for non-vendor feedback for an "advance the education" thread for the non-vendors considering this product.
Again Andrew, don't take personal, just making a point with the moderators.

Save the Wave
I hear ya, any post that can take away from a vendor selling something in there thread will usually be deleted, (understandalbe as one negative post, can deter 100 people even if there are 100 positive posts).
Your post here is a good way to get "TRUE" input on any product with out asking in a supporting thread.
As for my post, I was just giving my opinion on the wind restrictor from my personal view. I've actually spent a little time at the facilities where these are made and personalized and it's amazing some of the engineering that goes into each one ie. Wind Tunnels etc... Hopefully this post doesn't deter from your orig. thoughts and if so let me know and I'll delete them.
Since I was the original "poster" of this thread I'm going to mention that Neal at Corvette Mods (authorized CF vendor) offered me the best deal...give him a call.
